Can a carb rebuild kit work if it was made by a differnt company than the acual carb?

im rebulding the carb from my 64 gmc half ton. the carb is a bendix and im having trouble finding a rebuild kit for it. will a holly or another companys kit work for the carb? i dont wanna have to get a new carburator
