How to start Punk band?

There aren't really alott of people Into /Punk where I live. I have to drive about 2 hours to go to shows. All my friends are into Nu-metal and Emo. How do i get involved in the local scene and find other people interested In this kind of stuff? I'm more interested in Bad Religion than Korn.
