Is communication overrated?

I find that the more I try to delve into my boyfriend's mysterious mind, the more I dislike what I find. Last night, I was talking and he looked quite blank. So I asked him in a very straightforward manner, "You don't care about what I'm saying, do you?" He shook his head no. I was mad, which wasn't really justified because I was telling him about the amount of fiber in different types of bread and realized I didn't find it that interesting either. But the whole thing would have been better had I let him make his usual effort at looking interested. If only I hadn't asked him to express himself! Anyone else feel this way?
