How come if Socialism is so great for people according to liberals?

Venezuela with all their wealth from oil can't keep power on for their people? And Cuba can't provide power for its people. Oh I forgot that in Venezuela people have been asked not to shower. That Marxist Socialist society does not sound good to me. Why are we heading in the same direction with this administration and their redistributive ideas.? We must change again but this time for the better.
