I don't know if my aquatic turtle is sick or just recovering after eating gravel!?

I would recommend seeking a reptile vet's istance. Swelling of the eyes is most often ociated with a vitamin A deficiency, Hypovitaminosis A. However, there are a few other things that can cause the turtle's eyes to swell, like and eye infection or even parasites. This is where a reptile vet would be invaluable; if it is vitamin A deficiency, you give the turtle vitamin A supplements and the turtle will get better. If the turtle doesn't have a vitamin A deficiency and you feed the supplements, you can actually cause an over dose of vitamin A, which is a very painful condition, and the underlying cause of the eye swelling will not have been dealt with appropriately. Here's a site that can help you find a reptile vet nearest you: a href="http://www.herpvetconnection.com/" rel="nofollow"http://www.herpvetconnection.com//a
