Mother in law not crazy about first grandchild?

my husband and i just welcomed a daughter in january. everyone (specially my parents) is excited about the baby and visit often. my mother in law made me a baby shower and gave her several presents yet she only went to the hospital and has come to my home to see her twice ever since. i am loving it because she's not as clean as i am and my sister in law is dirty too (she's 5yrs old). Might it be because she is going through divorce and menopause? Just curious.
